Deliver more than expected this season

This is the month of Thanksgiving, and for a lot of us, that means - lots of food!

Yes, of course, food is an integral part of this holiday season.

However, this season is also about extending our arms out to others - especially those who can’t afford to buy food and or don’t have a family to spend it with.

Recently, more than ever, I began to realize how precious life is and how much it is taken for granted. Therefore, I set a goal for myself this Thanksgiving to go out and give to people who may not be receiving anything that day.

I want to invite you too to step out of your comfort zone and do something to give back to your community, a friend whom you lost touch with, or just a random stranger on the street.

Take that person out for coffee, or a meal.

Make a new friend with whom you would have never expected you’d find yourself associating with.

Give to those who least expect it, because, in return, it will spark a chain reaction.

Did you know that Kindness is infectious?

Think about how when someone holds the door open for you, you instinctively look back and hold the door open for the next person coming in.

If a child laughs on the train, another random person will laugh or smile and so may a few more other people.

How when someone gives some money to a homeless person or a performer on the street, a few more people reach in their pockets to give something as well.

It is unfortunate to see how hostile we can be sometimes towards strangers or people we may not know personally.

A smile goes a long way; It can make someone’s day if you simply say good morning with a smile

as opposed to keeping a straight face or ignoring them.

So, what does "delivering more than expected" mean to you?

It could mean helping out at home more or spending more quality time with your siblings,

Finishing that project before the expected deadline, or

Making amends with that co-worker who is at the last straw with you.

Life is too short to hold grudges, be bitter, and be serious all the time.

Choosing kindness is the best way to deliver more goodness into the world, as well as for yourself.

Delivering more is not just about going above others' expectations, but your own.

Exceed your expectations, and be the bigger person in situations that you might have otherwise handled differently.

Also, have a Warm and Happy Thanksgiving <3
