When you begin college, you start with a 4.0 GPA; it is your performance that determines whether you keep it there or let it decrease.
In the same manner, the value of your time is dependent on your choices.
If you make decisions that make good use of your time, it is time well spent.
It is time towards that 4.0
On the other hand, if you make choices that distract you, are forms of procrastination, and or have nothing to do with your goals, your GPA will drop, and so will the value of your time.
Sometimes we can get caught up in what everyone else is doing and or focus too much on appeasing others, that we spend less time doing what will take us closer to our destination!
I’m not saying a 4.0 is your destination (It's mine because I’m a nerd)
But whatever YOUR end goal is, you must filter out the unnecessary activities, drama, and or people that take away from that goal.
We aren’t meant to be skilled at every little thing and or be friends with every person we come across.
Yes, that might sound harsh, but it is the truth.
Picture this, you’re on the highway to get to your destination spot that you’ve been dreaming years to go to and you finally are financially stable enough to make the trip.
But every few miles there is an exit: a new restaurant, an old friend's place, an exciting amusement park, a new city, whatever the distraction may be, and you keep taking those exits and spending time there prolonging time away from your destination spot!
Sooner or later you may even forget where you were going and just get caught up in the exit spots.
And exit spots are just that - spots!
They are not places to stay long term - they are merely temporary.
So at the end of the day, of course, we all need to take a break here and there while we are on our journey, but we must be wise about where we take that break, how long we take it for, who we take that break with, and more importantly WHY we are taking that break.
Life is a highway; Drive smart✊🏽
Stay healthy, happy, and blessed🙏🏽
